Flashbacks: Irrational Fears of the Ordinary:
[November 2011 - Ongoing]
At first glance, it would appear that this is a series of unconnected landscapes. But, for me, a landscape can act as a trigger of fear, anxiety and paranoia: the residual echoes and intrusive memories of being a police officer on patrol in Northern Ireland during the height of its conflict. Although i was medically retired in 2003 due to the affects of post - traumatic stress disorder; every now and then there remains an overpowering feeling that within the stillness of any normal everyday scene, lies a hidden explosive device or route to possible ambush - unnerving flashbacks of when terrorists used hoax calls for police assistance at a chosen location in a bid to lure them to their deaths - the same methods that are currently still in use to this day.
